What We Do
Align Performance specializes in the biomechanics of golf. Studio Owner Bobby Lane is a PGA member, Affiliated Anusara yoga teacher, Certified Personal Trainer and golf biomechanics specialist. But we can help you take your performance to the next level no matter what your game is.
You’ll work with certified, professional trainers and therapists who have access to a unique combination of fitness programs and personal training all based on the most modern, sport-specific techniques. The Right Combination to Unlock Your Potential
We also offer physical rehabilitation, therapy rehabilitation, MAT (Muscle Activation Technique) and Anusara-insired yoga to provide a total fitness and performance environment.
We’ll create a combination of training and fitness, or even therapeutics and rehabilitation, that is just right for you. We’ll help you optimize your performance by improving your alignment, balance, flexibility, stability, strength and sequence of movement.
Golf from the Inside Out
Maximum speed of the club head in any golf swing results with minimal effort from the limbs.
This is achieved by initating the golf swing from the core or center of your body instead from the limbs. Optimal performance comes when the “dog wag its tail.” Most golfers let the “tail wag the dog.”
Detailed, Effective Assessment
Our full training program starts with detailed assessments, orthopedic evaluations and golf swing and four-point video evaluations.
From there, we introduce you to a tailored exercise program, using a variety of exercises and equipment. You’ll learn Neutral Joint Alignment, which creates the foundation of every exercise flow.
Spine Angle Awareness, Center-Based Movement Exercises
Every golfer has his or own spine angle, because everyone is designed a little differently – long torso/short legs, short torso/long legs, or equal torso/legs. Spine angle also teaches you about the importance of understanding the muscles that work your “balancing joints” – your ankle joints, knee joints and hip joints. To get you to understand how the spine angle affects your balancing joints and their related muscles, we break the program into three components:
Foundation Component – strengthening the power-providing and anchoring muscles of the lower body
Postural Component – strengthening the correct upper body and core muscles to maintain stability and a neutral position in the shoulder girdle and pelvic girdle; learn to initiate movement from the power/core muscles
Rotational Component – strengthening and coordinating the applicable rotator muscles so they rotate the shoulder and pelvic girdles in the proper sequence of movement to achieve the optimal coiling and uncoiling of the body.
Balancing, Stabilizing and Strengthening Exercises
After you’ve learned the correct technique and movement of the exercises we use at Align Performance, you will be introduced to a variety of training tools that require more balance, while performing the same or similar exercises.
These training tools will teach you to stabilize the shoulder and pelvic girdles, strengthen the power muscles, initiate movement from the center and core of your body, and perform the exercises with more precision, efficiency and ease.
Optimum Sequential Movement
As you progress, the components that the earlier program sequence focused on will be combined into the exercises –Foundational, Postural and Rotational exercises are performed together to ultimate achieve the Sequential Movement Phase.
